Endless Summer Baseball Camp

General Information

Please note: the camp will not be running this 2007 season.

Camp hours on the fields are 9:30a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. Overnight campers will have additional instruction at the Endless Summer housing complex where facilitites are set up for individual hitting and pitching drills.

Instruction

The hours of camp are broken down into different segments divided among hitting, bunting, baserunning, defense, pitching, game situations, and games.

Drills are many and varied and are designed to break down the various segments of the game into individual components. Hitting tees, soft-toss screens, pitching nets, softhands infield trainers, and similar equipment will be used as teaching enhancements.

The Camp provides each camper with an Endless Summer tee shirt and cap and insurance supplemental to the camper's primary insurance. Players should bring shoes and a glove to the field each day.

Housing & Facilities

For overnight campers, the housing complex is comprised of two furnished cabins situated on over 40 acres in the heart of the Endless Mountains three miles from Montrose, PA. This bucolic setting for the camp is approximately two miles from Salt Springs State Park, an area unmarked by human hands since prehistoric times.

The overnight camp is limited to 12 campers each session.

The two cabins include three bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, and a large inground heated pool.  Approximately six campers will sleep inside one of the homes and will be supervised by a camp counselor. Those who register first will have priority as to whether they wish to sleep inside or outside in large tents supervised by a counselor.

There are hiking trails on the mountains on camp property, including Stagecoach Road, a stagecoach line which ran from Montrose, Pa. to Binghamton, NY in the 1800's. A trout stream meanders through camp property and is a home for frogs, salamanders, deer, wild turkey, and beaver.

After instructional hours at the camp, camp activities will include movies (baseball, of course), games, swimming (all swimming will be supervised), nature walks, and marshmallow roasts.

The Camp will provide campers with all meals, but the campers should bring spending money for field trips, since the camp may supervise a mini-golf outing, take a trip to the town of Montrose to see a movie, and take campers to see the Binghampton Mets, a double-A farm club affiliated with the New York Mets. Approximately twenty-five to fifty dollars should provide your child with adequate spending money.

The fee for the six day overnight camp is $405.00 each session.  The fee for day campers is $165.00 per session.  A camper who attends both sessions is entitled to a 5% discount on tuition fees.  The deposit fee for overnight camp is $100.00 and for the day camp is $50.00.  Deposits should be mailed to David Culp, Camp Director, at 7000 Crittenden Street, Philadelphia, PA. 19119.   Final payment of fees is due two weeks prior to the player beginning camp in order to insure a place on the roster.
